The Indian FMCG industry also expects to witness a positive growth in the January to March  quarter of 2021. A steady climb has been noticed in the industry since withdrawal of the  nationwide lockdown.

In the last few months, the significant growth in the FMCG industry has been possible with the  rising consumer demand for the food, health & hygiene and personal care products. The concept  of social distancing also triggered the growth of the e-commerce sites where the urban  consumers got the chance to purchase all the necessary things from different virtual platforms.  Besides, rural markets also grew from 10.6% to 14.2% between Sep’20 to Dec’20.

However, different parts of the country might witness the second wave of Covid-19 infections  which may hamper the further growth of the mentioned industry.
